Is it fair to be docked points for a military fit test due to your waist size?
I have been in the military for 4 yrs and some change and have never had a problem adhering to the physical fitness standards. I am constantly trying to improve my fitness level and I just took my fit test last month but have been bothered since, I maxed out my push-ups and score 8.75 out of the 10 awarded for sit ups and I even ran in a notable time warranting 42+ points on the run out of the 50 available but when it came time to measure my waist I absolutely felt like the 7th wonder of the world or worse. I managed to recieve 18 points out of the 30 available if it would not have been for the BMI factor i would have barely scraped by. I have 2 children and cannot recieve financial relief or help to get an abdominalplasty or any surgery to contour my waistline and abdominal muscles shouldn’t there be a system in place to help these situations…
No that is ridiculous and discriminatory… If the muscle to fat ratio is up to standards… the waist size should not matter.
I can not get my waist down to the ideal circumference because I have too much muscle… I look fat but an inch is all that could be pinched and only when I’m sitting down…
