
Run a set distance in x minutes; General fitness or distance specific training?
I’m trying to run a 1.5 mile as fast as I can, but I’ve been getting conflicting advice on which way is the best to train for this; from “shorter faster runs back to back” to “run 6 miles at a time”. Should I be doing longer distance running between my 1.5 mile attempts or strictly 1.5 miles at a time?
I would try running for longer distances. It will make that 1.5 mile seem easier.
