Why is my front tyre wierd and do you think I will get more go fast when I replace it in six months or so?

My mechanic and warrant of fitness guy both reckon my front tyre is wierd. Its a gn250 and the front tyre came brand new with the bike. Its a coupla years old now and the tread is nearly up to get-a-new-one stage but they both noticed that its worn way more on the outside or edges than the middle of the tyre. In fact theres a big ridge in the middle of the tyre that still sticks up.
I think it might be making me more prone to wind that keeps me at 100km when i could be doing more than that! Sometimes it feels wonky but mainly fine.
But if its always been wierd I might have just gotten used to it.
Do you think its just another example of shoddy chinese parts?(thanks suzuki!)
Have you heard of this happening before? Is it wierd and will my speed improve with a new one?!
oh okay. well i do ride on the motorway 40 min a day….

It just means your aggressive in the turns when the outside of the tire wears faster than the middle, and the factory tire is not always the best tire to run on your bike, sounds like you need a good dunlop tire for better handling and speed but the down side of it, low miles.
Keep an eye on your tire pressure for best performance and wear,
