what are the things that coast guard recruiters look at in the recruits?
My name is Jessie. I am twenty years old. I have been wanting to join the military for a long time. I think the coast guard will suit me best because i would rather be protecting are borders than fighting over seas. I am very passionate about keeping drugs out of are country. I have seen a lot of people in my area suffer from drug problems. My question is what can i do to have a better chance of getting into the coast guard. I am not the smartest person but i am not dumb. I am in great physical shape, i run about 4 miles a day lift weights. Also i am recently took up doing martial arts(Brazilian jiu jistu). So fitness is my life. I want to take all the hard work i do in keeping in great shape and put it into protecting are country.
Is there certain things that recruiters look for besides just high ASVAB scores
Like if i go meet with them should i wear a suit and tie.

Suit and tie are not necessary. Call and make an appointment, and dress nice. Don’t just show up, and don’t dress like you’re going to hang out at your buddies. You are undergoing a job interview, treat it as such.
